James Brill
James’s obsession with boats started at a young age sailing the estuaries of the East Coast of England. In his teens and twenties James competed in many European dinghy racing circuits including 18 skiff, RS 600s, and Musto Skiffs.
Graduating from the University of Brighton with a degree in Civil Engineering James worked on the South Coast of England and London as a Structural Engineer.
In 2005 the draw of the sea was too much, he left the UK to work on Super Yachts. He worked his way up the ladder to become a Captain and sailed all over the world, competing in many regattas. As Captain of Aegir he was part of a team that won the Maxi Rolex Cup consecutively in 2012 and 2013.
While he was crew he was involved in and managed many large refits in Palma. In 2013 James moved ashore to Project Manage refits using the knowledge and experience he gained refitting yachts as a Captain. He still competes in regattas and delivers yachts to keep up to dates with sailing developments.
